Federal M.P. David McGuinty relayed my questions to Tony Clement, then-federal Minister for
Industry, but the answers received from Tony Clement’s office were dismissive
and un-clear. In particular I note the part of the response glibly referring to
“...people who have given up looking for work for various reasons...”- with no
evidence to support the statement that the people affected had actually “given
up”. This seems to me to be an instance of a designation being conflated with a
description, without any factual basis.
